Responsibilities
- Define Horizon Control’s test strategy, coverage model, automation strategy, quality gates, and release-readiness criteria.
- Review architecture, designs, and API specifications to identify quality risks early.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, reusable test libraries, fixtures, mocks, and reporting solutions.
- Build API, integration, system, UI, and workflow automation using Go, Godog, Gherkin, BDD, Playwright, and TypeScript.
- Integrate automated testing into GitHub Actions pipelines and ensure coverage of critical business workflows.
- Execute integration and distributed-systems testing across Horizon Control, Provider Engine, MOSS integrations, Rafay providers, NATS JetStream, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes environments.
- Validate authentication, RBAC, multi-tenant isolation, asynchronous operations, event delivery, reconciliation, drift detection, provider interactions, and error recovery.
- Develop failure-injection and resiliency scenarios covering transactional outbox patterns, delivery semantics, idempotency, retries, concurrency, state transitions, and eventual consistency.
- Design and execute performance, scalability, stress, longevity, upgrade, and serviceability testing using k6, JMeter, and Go benchmarks.
- Drive test planning, execution, defect triage, release validation, quality dashboards, risk assessments, and quality recommendations.
- Troubleshoot customer-reported issues through defect reproduction and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership, quality guidance, and executive-level quality updates.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software quality engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Java, or a comparable language.
- Hands-on experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong experience with API testing and automation, REST APIs, OpenAPI, JSON, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience testing distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or microservices-based architectures.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience validating asynchronous systems and messaging platforms.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth, RBAC, and multi-tenancy.
- Experience with system, integration, security, and non-functional testing.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred experience with Go-based automation, Godog, Gherkin-based BDD automation, Playwright, and UI test automation.
- Preferred familiarity with NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Rafay or similar infrastructure orchestration platforms, and AI/ML infrastructure platforms.
- Preferred experience with PostgreSQL, distributed data systems, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and modern observability tooling.
- Preferred experience validating FIPS-compliant software environments.
- Preferred understanding of CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, RAID, SCSI, Fibre Channel, storage concepts, and basic networking concepts.
