Base Salary
$122k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement and extend backend features for critical train-control applications.
- Develop and maintain system-level software primarily in Rust.
- Find and fix edge cases to improve the reliability and correctness of train-control logic.
- Write and test software meeting safety, security, and compliance standards.
- Debug and diagnose issues in simulation and on real hardware.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions and write technical specifications for new features.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in backend or systems-level software development.
- Experience with C, C++, Rust, or another systems programming language.
- Proficiency with Linux environments, low-level system interactions, and memory management.
- Production Rust experience or a strong desire to work with Rust is preferred.
- Experience in safety-critical applications such as autonomous vehicles, industrial control equipment, or aerospace is preferred.
- Experience with or knowledge of rail control systems is greatly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
