Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement scalable distributed backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Own architecture and design for critical platform engineering initiatives.
- Design cloud infrastructure with high availability, fault tolerance, resilience, auto-scaling, and cost and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system observability, reliability, and performance.
- Lead technical designs, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Influence technical vision, architecture direction, and long-term engineering strategy.
- Mentor engineers on system design, testing strategies, distributed systems, and cloud-native development.
- Drive cross-team collaboration around dependencies, architectural decisions, and shared platform components.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience in backend services, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
- Proven experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and system design.
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud services, architecture patterns, and cloud-native design principles.
- Experience with performance engineering, scalability, reliability, multi-tenant platforms, and cloud security.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and networking.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release engineering.
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS or ECS, Lambda, and distributed data technologies such as Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
- Understanding of batch processing, data pipelines, analytics platforms, and job orchestration systems such as AWS Step Functions or Airflow.
