Responsibilities
- Own frontend features from discovery through production, including technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build responsive, accessible, reliable, and server-side-rendered web experiences using JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue 3, and Nuxt 3.
- Develop reusable interfaces with component libraries and established design patterns.
- Improve web performance, accessibility, internationalization, and overall frontend quality.
- Translate customer insights into product experiences for discovery, comparison, purchase, promotions, cart, checkout, and order tracking.
- Support experimentation through feature flags, instrumentation, controlled rollouts, and data-informed iteration.
- Define API contracts with backend engineers and integrate services built with Python and Go.
- Contribute targeted backend changes to deliver complete end-to-end features.
- Use product analytics and observability data to understand customer behavior and guide improvements.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, end-to-end, visual regression, and accessibility tests.
- Deliver high-quality releases and participate in incident response and an on-call rotation.
- Provide code reviews, documentation, technical discussions, and ownership of technical projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong production frontend experience.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Professional experience with a modern frontend framework such as Vue, React, or similar; Vue 3 and Nuxt 3 are strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, routing, API integration, and browser fundamentals.
- Experience building responsive and accessible interfaces with HTML and CSS.
- Understanding of server-side rendering, frontend performance, caching, and web application behavior.
- Experience delivering production features involving accessibility, SEO, internationalization, privacy, and legal requirements.
- Experience with component libraries, design systems, or reusable frontend patterns.
- Experience writing and maintaining frontend tests, including unit, integration, end-to-end, visual regression, or accessibility tests.
- Understanding of APIs and microservices and ability to collaborate on service boundaries.
- Working knowledge of at least one backend language, preferably Python or Go, with ability to make or review backend changes.
- Experience with production releases, CI/CD, feature flags, monitoring, and incident management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions to product, design, engineering, and business stakeholders.
