Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Webshare’s production infrastructure.
- Lead the migration from Docker Swarm to on-premises Kubernetes.
- Maintain high availability across hundreds of servers and approximately 50 services.
- Drive observability in cooperation with the development team.
- Establish and enforce infrastructure-as-code practices and improve CI/CD pipeline reliability.
- Participate in the on-call rotation alongside backend engineers.
- Lead infrastructure incident resolution, run post-mortems, and drive systematic remediation.
- Contribute to platform tooling that improves developer experience and reduces infrastructure toil.
- Share infrastructure ownership with backend engineers.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating highly available infrastructure at scale, including hundreds of servers, dozens of services, and real production load.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in self-hosted or bare-metal environments.
- Confidence with infrastructure as code.
- Scripting and development skills.
- Preferred: experience leading a major infrastructure migration from planning through stabilization.
- Preferred: familiarity with Python and/or Go.
- Preferred: exposure to proxy or networking-heavy infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience in a small team where developers shared infrastructure responsibility.
- Preferred: familiarity with edge clusters or split compute/edge architectures.
