Base Salary
$220k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define how Rilla builds, ships, monitors, and scales its infrastructure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Terraform modules, monitoring systems, SSO integrations, and API infrastructure.
- Write code, design systems, make architectural decisions, and build a platform used daily by a 25-plus-person engineering team.
- Own systems end-to-end from initial design through production operation for thousands of customers.
- Operate AWS infrastructure and production resources using Terraform.
- Maintain Docker-based deployment and orchestration systems.
- Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including backups, recovery, indexing, and monitoring.
- Build customer-facing authentication and SSO integrations using OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OIDC.
- Create monitoring, observability, scripting, automation, runbooks, post-mortems, and design documentation.
- Build the platform function from scratch while supporting both Rilla’s customers and its engineering team.
Requirements
- Experience provisioning and operating production cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience building or maintaining trusted CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment.
- Production containerization experience with Docker and familiarity with orchestration through ECS or Kubernetes.
- Database administration experience including query optimization, indexing, backup and recovery, and monitoring, particularly with PostgreSQL.
- Ability to architect and build RESTful APIs used by external customers and internal services.
- Experience with authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OIDC.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, and Sentry.
- Scripting and automation experience, with an ability to create repeatable processes and eliminate manual work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing runbooks, post-mortems, and design documents.
