Responsibilities
- Establish SRE ownership and practices across two platforms with little or no existing SRE discipline.
- Manage run operations and change responsibilities for a risk decisioning system and an AWS-hosted third-party application.
- Define and right-size on-call requirements based on platform needs and incident time-criticality.
- Operate as the senior SRE owner across multiple platforms and set direction, priorities, and broader departmental strategy.
- Scale SRE coverage into additional areas after the initial platforms are stabilised.
- Help improve developer experience, automated testing, security, AI-assisted development, and engineering productivity initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven senior Site Reliability Engineering experience spanning operational support and deployment or release responsibilities.
- Experience establishing or maturing SRE practices where little or no SRE discipline previously existed.
- Ability to own and influence SRE work across multiple distinct platforms or applications concurrently.
- Experience working in AWS-hosted environments.
- Experience operating alongside or supporting third-party or vendor-built applications.
- Demonstrated success materially improving broken, slow, or manual engineering processes at scale.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated environments is desirable, ideally at VP level or above.
- Experience defining or right-sizing on-call models and scaling an SRE function across a department is desirable.
- Experience with Anthropic, Claude, or other AI coding platforms; developer experience platforms; platform engineering; automated testing; security; or large-scale engineering transformation is desirable.
