Base Salary
$216k - $283k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and ship production backend services in Go and/or Rust.
- Build and maintain high-throughput telemetry ingestion pipelines.
- Develop RESTful and gRPC APIs for internal and external data access.
- Implement and evolve the time-series storage layer for optimal performance.
- Build event streaming pipelines with validated integration tests.
- Own service reliability and participate in on-call rotations.
- Instrument services with logging, tracing, and metrics for diagnostics.
- Package and deploy services as containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
- Partner with the Principal Architect to implement platform architecture decisions.
- Define engineering standards and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Go and/or Rust with a record of building production systems.
- Experience with distributed data systems and event streaming technologies.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with cloud-native deployment and containerization.
- Familiarity with observability tooling and structured logging.
- Comfortable writing SQL and working with relational and time-series data.
- Strong engineering practices including TDD and CI/CD.
- Established record of setting technical direction at an organizational level.
