Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the development of secure, reliable, and scalable backend systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple teams and projects.
- Establish and champion coding standards, architectural principles, and technical direction for the engineering organization.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business goals.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for rapid growth and changing business demands.
- Own complex, high-impact projects from architecture and strategic planning through deployment and ongoing optimization.
- Improve developer experience through advanced tooling, observability frameworks, and platform reliability improvements.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and technical guidance.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and identify opportunities for innovation.
Requirements
- Exceptional proficiency in Go, Java, Python, or similar programming languages, with Go identified as the primary backend language.
- Extensive experience architecting complex distributed systems using advanced design patterns and architectural paradigms.
- Proven experience designing and delivering mission-critical systems operating at massive scale with exceptional reliability.
- Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Deep expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure and advanced infrastructure-as-code and deployment practices using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
- Experience troubleshooting, debugging, solving complex problems, and resolving critical production incidents.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience driving technical decisions and mentoring senior engineers.
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Preferred experience includes financial platforms, foundational engineering systems, architectural migrations, observability, event-driven architectures, streaming systems, data processing pipelines, open source contributions, technical publications, industry speaking, high-growth technology companies, advanced security, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
