Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
- Define test scope and coverage for system integration, regression, functional, end-to-end, smoke, performance, and load testing.
- Create and maintain automated tests, manual exploratory tests, test cases, and test data across application, web service, user interface, file, and database layers.
- Collaborate with business systems analysts and developers to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and assess system impacts.
- Advise teams on test levels, defect fixes, acceptance criteria, testing risks, and appropriate quality practices.
- Review team outputs, facilitate knowledge transfer, maintain testing standards, and demonstrate working functionality to product owners and team showcases.
- Provide test estimates, communicate test results to management, forecast high-risk areas, and drive resolution of testing issues.
- Establish collaborative relationships across development, business analysis, project management, and subject matter expert teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- At least five years of experience in a QA/testing technical role.
- Proven experience testing software development in a structured environment and managing the defect lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of testing levels from unit testing through UAT and experience creating automated functional tests with test frameworks and scripting.
- Experience with Python, ETL, SQL, API testing, microservices testing, functional testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, and smoke testing.
- Understanding of application servers, databases, web services, basic programming constructs, and high-level system architecture.
- Experience working with user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- Ability to improve project practices, adapt to changing priorities, identify testing risks, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Preferred experience with AWS, GitHub Copilot, accessibility testing, and security testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
