Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer and system requirements for mass-produced Driver Monitoring Systems and translate them into software implementations.
  • Implement, evaluate, and improve in-cabin perception software using MATLAB/Simulink, C++, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Contribute to DRBFM, functional safety, SOTIF, and quality activities throughout the development process.
  • Develop tools to automate and improve the software development workflow.
  • Help manage project schedules, deliverables, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with developers and contractors on software implementation.
  • Communicate and align deliverables with Toyota and other suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with mass-production product development, including requirements analysis and product implementation.
  • At least 2–3 years of software development experience using C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or other major programming languages.
  • Interest in and foundational knowledge of an automotive safety or quality domain such as DRBFM, functional safety, SOTIF, or quality auditing.
  • Ability to collaborate in Japanese in a Japanese-culture business environment, equivalent to JLPT N1 or higher, plus conversational English.
  • Preferred qualifications include automotive communication development, hands-on DRBFM, ISO 26262 or ISO 21448 experience, quality auditing or assurance, image recognition or human sensing, data science and analytics, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD toolchains, AWS, international work experience, or business-level English.
