Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to clarify user requirements.
- Own component-level design and architecture decisions for services within the domain.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and extensible code and contribute to code reviews.
- Develop test plans, automation, and robust coverage for backend services.
- Build and improve ETL and data-processing systems serving global Places Data.
- Integrate telemetry and improve engineering tools and processes while meeting reliability, accessibility, security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory expectations.
- Debug complex issues across client and server layers and provide technical leadership to peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred experience with C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Scala and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with big data systems such as Spark, PySpark, or stream processing systems.
- Experience with cloud services and software system design and architecture.
- Ability to debug complex issues across client and server layers.
Benefits
- U.S. employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office are expected to work from the office at least four days per week starting January 26, 2026; non-U.S. expectations use a 25-mile commute threshold and may vary by jurisdiction.
