Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant Java backend services and APIs.
- Define and evolve backend architecture for a federated enterprise platform.
- Implement authentication, authorization, SSO, centralized entitlements, and other security controls.
- Optimize systems using caching, asynchronous processing, and efficient data access patterns.
- Design integrations with Content Provider applications through HTTP-based interfaces.
- Mentor senior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote software engineering best practices.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues.
- Collaborate with product management, frontend, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver features.
- Assess and manage technology, regulatory, and operational risks in accordance with company policies.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of backend software development experience, including architecting and leading complex enterprise platforms.
- Experience serving as a Principal or Lead Developer with significant hands-on technical leadership.
- Expert proficiency in Java backend programming and associated frameworks.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and RESTful API design.
- Experience with IAM solutions, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO, and fine-grained authorization.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development on GCP and AWS.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, Unix, Oracle, caching solutions, and AI adoption.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, presentation, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Frontend integration experience with ReactJS, Content Security Policy, corporate design systems, and ADA compliance is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree preferred.
