Base Salary
$269k - $307k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain a current organization-wide view of Shopping’s active work, plans, technical dependencies, and business dependencies.
- Anticipate and secure enterprise platform support, tools, access, and approvals before they become blockers.
- Prepare and present Shopping’s progress and goals to Capital One senior leadership and secure decisions, investment, and buy-in.
- Navigate security, risk, compliance, procurement, and platform standards on Shopping’s behalf.
- Broker cross-team dependencies on major cross-cutting initiatives.
- Represent Shopping’s engineering and explain architecture and technical decisions to enterprise platform, security, and risk partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Preferred 10+ years of experience with software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture, web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture.
- Preferred 10+ years of professional coding experience with commonly used languages such as Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred 8+ years of experience with databases and database management systems.
- Preferred 10+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle and networking protocols and third-party distributed-system integration.
- Preferred 5+ years with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred 5+ years mentoring senior engineers and driving technical-team professional development.
- Preferred 2+ years leading cross-domain architectural reviews and establishing coding and design standards.
- Expertise in strategically applying agentic AI coding tools to systemic development challenges.
