Base Salary
$157k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of a petabyte-scale, multi-regional Activations Backend platform.
- Architect and build large-scale batch, streaming, delta-computation, orchestration, and delivery pipelines.
- Use Spark/Dataproc, SingleStore, Kubernetes/GKE, Pub/Sub, Redpanda/Kafka, Temporal, and Cadence where appropriate.
- Design multi-tenant scheduling, queueing, caching, rate-limit, fairness, SLA, and capacity-management systems.
- Drive performance, cost, scalability, observability, SLO, and reliability improvements for large-scale workloads.
- Own critical production services, coordinate incident response and postmortems, and implement structural fixes.
- Define technical strategy, collaborate across partner teams, mentor engineers, and represent Activations Backend in architecture forums.
- Evaluate and adopt AI-enhanced development and operational tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience writing and deploying high-quality production code in a modern language such as Java, Go, Scala, or a similar language.
- Experience leading the design and delivery of large-scale distributed or big data systems with measurable business impact.
- Strong data engineering and SQL skills, including modeling data and optimizing complex queries on very large tables.
- Deep experience owning end-to-end data pipelines covering ingestion, transformation, orchestration, failure handling, and observability.
- Experience with cloud environments, ideally GCP, and containerized workloads such as Kubernetes/GKE.
- Ability to define technical strategy, evaluate tradeoffs, align stakeholders, and deliver multi-quarter initiatives incrementally.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, feedback, and cross-team influence skills.
- Preferred experience with GCS, Dataproc, GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, IAM, Temporal, Cadence, Airflow, Apache Spark, SingleStore, Snowflake, Kafka, or Redpanda.
- Preferred experience designing multi-tenant systems with rate limits, fairness, and SLAs, and optimizing performance and compute costs for large-scale data workloads.
- Experience in advertising, marketing, data activation, or other systems requiring high correctness, timeliness, and scale.
