Responsibilities
- Build and manage AWS services that detect cybersecurity threats and automate their mitigation.
- Collaborate with security engineers and data scientists to develop scalable security detection and mitigation workflows.
- Design low-latency architectures for big-data processing and improve system observability, performance, and efficiency.
- Develop security detections and automatically reduce customer risk through network and security controls.
- Maintain operational excellence through testing, automation, alarms, fault tolerance, and root-cause resolution.
- Mentor teammates technically and professionally and advocate for new technologies.
- Participate in on-call rotations, typically one week every two months, to resolve production issues.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience is required.
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling, is required.
- Non-internship software development experience with Java, C#, Python, or Rust is required; TypeScript is a plus.
- Experience with Linux operating system development is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include full software development lifecycle experience covering coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred qualifications include backend engineering experience with applications processing large datasets such as network flow logs or security telemetry.
