Base Salary
$97k - $121k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and advance localization, planning, control, SLAM, and other major autonomy features.
- Develop SLAM, multisensor fusion, planning, and control solutions using methods including EKF, UKF, factor graphs, MPC, LQR, trajectory tracking, and model identification.
- Plan and conduct experiments, verification, and validation activities while defining performance indicators for accuracy, latency, reliability, and real-time performance.
- Conduct failure-mode and root-cause analyses and incorporate safety concepts for autonomous operation.
- Support system integration and bring-up on NVIDIA and ARM embedded computing platforms.
- Collaborate with Perception, Embedded, Safety, suppliers, and external partners, and contribute to code reviews and engineering standards.
- Coach and mentor Level I and Level II engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related technical field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Relevant professional experience ranges from 2-4 years for Robotics Engineer II through 10-12+ years for Robotics Engineer V.
- Experience with SLAM, 2D/3D mapping, LiDAR, vision, loop closure, and map optimization.
- Experience developing multisensor fusion using EKF, UKF, or factor graph methods.
- Knowledge of advanced planning and control methods, including MPC, LQR, trajectory tracking, and model identification.
- Experience with failure-mode analysis, autonomous-system safety concepts, embedded computing platforms, real-time performance, experimental design, and performance metrics.
- Experience with code reviews, technical standards, and supplier or partner collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, resolve complex technical issues, own technical outcomes, collaborate across engineering teams, and mentor junior engineers.
