Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate Java and Spring Boot backend services for data aggregation, rendering, and customer delivery.
- Integrate Apache Kafka and GCP Pub/Sub into reliable, recoverable event-driven data flows.
- Build and maintain public APIs and automated document delivery pipelines for customer servers and on-demand retrieval.
- Contribute to extensible document rendering architecture for standard and client-specific reports.
- Develop internal frontend tooling and lightweight frontends for team products.
- Write and optimize SQL and design schemas for relational reporting workloads.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and contribute to team DevOps practices.
- Own complex features from concept through production and drive technical decisions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to reviews, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
- Translate reporting requirements with business stakeholders and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
- Deep production-grade expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid experience with Apache Kafka or comparable event streaming platforms.
- Experience designing and operating services on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases.
- Experience with containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical fullstack ability, including internal tooling or lightweight frontend development.
- A track record of designing scalable, resilient systems and delivering features to production.
- Proactive ownership, strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder-facing skills.
- Preferred experience with GCP Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage or buckets, Python, TypeScript, document generation and rendering, financial or index data, regulatory reporting, and public APIs for external clients.
