Responsibilities
- Design, build, administer, monitor, govern, and secure enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Architect and implement resilient, highly available, multi-region Azure solutions and migrate on-premises infrastructure services to Azure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, Ansible, and related tools.
- Build and manage Azure resources, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms.
- Partner with risk, cybersecurity, architecture, application, and cloud networking teams on security, identity, access controls, hybrid connectivity, DNS, and cloud firewall solutions.
- Support application teams in adopting, transforming, and modernizing workloads on Azure.
- Administer Windows-based VDI workloads hosted in cloud environments; general Windows management and Linux management are out of scope.
- Use PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, and Azure CLI for scripting and automation.
- Ensure infrastructure meets performance, availability, reliability, capacity, governance, and security standards.
- Use Git for source control and version management.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related experience and 5+ years designing and deploying enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure cloud solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure SQL/MySQL, Azure Automation, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery.
- Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for monitoring and observability.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, cloud security, governance, and policy-driven controls.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, including Terraform Cloud, Azure CLI, and automation pipelines.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD platforms and experience using Git.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, and enterprise-grade network design.
- Experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems in cloud environments, with the role focused on hosted Windows VDI workloads.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, and Azure CLI.
- Experience with PowerShell DSC, Chef, or Puppet for configuration management and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes supporting containerized workloads.
- Familiarity with serverless computing models and cloud-native toolchains.
- Experience supporting large, distributed, or mission-critical enterprise systems and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or related credentials are strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
