Responsibilities
- Design event-driven, cloud-native microservices using distributed-systems design patterns.
- Define bounded contexts, system boundaries, and single-responsibility services aligned to business domains.
- Design and enforce API-first inter-service contracts using REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
- Implement decentralized data management in which each service owns its datastore.
- Design resilience through retries, timeouts, bulkheads, and distributed tracing.
- Drive Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Establish comprehensive logging, monitoring, and tracing across services.
- Provide technical leadership, documentation, and cross-team communication to promote microservices best practices.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3–5 years focused on distributed systems and microservices.
- Deep backend expertise with Java/Spring Boot, Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
- Knowledge of zero-trust architectures, OAuth 2.0, SAML, and API gateways.
- Strong technical leadership, documentation, and cross-team communication skills.
