Base Salary
$166k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build features for the redesigned ngrok Agent, including networking, integrations, and remote management capabilities.
- Design and maintain reliable edge software that handles latency, throughput, network partitions, transient failures, misconfiguration, and resource constraints.
- Develop and maintain SDKs and embeddable agent components that are stable, easy to integrate, and difficult to misuse.
- Improve diagnostics, logging, and metrics to make Agent behavior observable in customer environments.
- Ensure the Agent behaves consistently across developer laptops, servers, CI systems, containers, and varied hardware.
- Collaborate with product, platform, and support teams to explain failures and improve developer experience.
Requirements
- Experience building systems-level software that operates reliably under pressure.
- Comfort with Go, Rust, C, C++, or Java; Go experience is a bonus.
- Ability to reason about reliability, security, performance, and technical tradeoffs.
- Interest in debugging complex systems and building clear, correct software.
- Extra credit for experience with networking, proxies, agents, SDKs, embeddable runtimes, observability tooling, or widely used open-source systems.
