Responsibilities
- Design and implement Box Automate features with a primary focus on frontend architecture in React and TypeScript.
- Build rich, responsive interfaces for creating, configuring, and monitoring automated workflows.
- Contribute to backend services, distributed systems, and integrations supporting workflow automation.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, infrastructure teams, and engineers to define and deliver features.
- Review code, mentor junior engineers, and influence engineering practices and technical direction.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents outside business hours when scheduled.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated full-stack development expertise.
- Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture, plus knowledge of backend principles, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Ability to independently lead frontend architecture while working effectively with backend services and distributed systems.
- Understanding of API contracts, caching strategies, database design, and asynchronous event processing.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and DevOps practices.
- Experience influencing technical direction through RFCs, design documents, or cross-team collaboration.
- Fluent written and verbal English proficiency.
- Preferred: workflow automation, business process management, integration platforms, Java, backend microservices architecture, enterprise integrations, API design, cross-functional leadership, mentoring, open-source contributions, or strong code-quality practices.
