Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Operate and optimize AWS data and orchestration services, including S3, Glue, Redshift, DMS, AppFlow, Step Functions, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Airflow, ECS, and ECR.
- Support data engineers with platform requirements, incident resolution, access issues, and operational blockers.
- Drive FinOps initiatives covering cost visibility, optimization, right-sizing, and waste reduction.
- Build proofs of concept and technical evaluations for modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience, with the posting also citing 7–11 years and 5–8 years in different sections.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services including S3, Glue, Redshift, DMS, and AppFlow; Athena is nice to have.
- Experience with Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions for workflow orchestration.
- Experience with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, including modular infrastructure, environments, and state management.
- Experience with Git-based workflows using GitHub.
- Knowledge of container platforms including ECS and ECR.
- Experience optimizing costs for Glue, Redshift, S3, data transfer, and orchestration services.
- Python experience with boto3, Glue jobs, and automation, plus SQL experience with Redshift and Athena.
- Apache Iceberg, modern table formats, data-platform modernization, large-scale migration, and multi-account AWS environments are preferred.
