Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, architecture, implementation, and modernization of enterprise-grade Java and Spring-based applications.
- Design APIs, integrations, data flows, application environments, distributed service patterns, and operational support models.
- Develop and review complex backend components while guiding engineers through design, coding, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and production supportability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed services, messaging systems, databases, APIs, and cloud-connected environments.
- Create technical specifications, nonfunctional requirements, estimates, implementation plans, and design documentation.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and lead technical discussions across engineering and business teams.
- Provide DevOps consultation related to deployment, monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience designing and developing Spring-based Java services.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Web, Spring Security, Spring Data, Kafka, and Cassandra.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, data-intensive systems, messaging platforms, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver scalable, reliable backend services and APIs.
- Experience producing architecture documentation, technical specifications, nonfunctional requirements, and implementation estimates.
- Strong Linux skills and familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud technology.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and guide teams without relying solely on formal authority.
- Preferred experience with Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, test automation, deployment standardization, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, telecommunications, mobile messaging, fraud prevention, identity, STIR/SHAKEN, SIP, or API security.
