Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident response and post-incident improvements.
  • Improve application reliability, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QE, SRE/Platform Engineering, and other squads.
  • Drive proactive maintenance, technical debt reduction, and reusable engineering solutions.
  • Document technical designs, decisions, and operational procedures when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Java backend development and hands-on experience with the Spring Framework.
  • At least 4 years of experience in backend software engineering building and supporting production systems.
  • Strong understanding of API and service development, scalable and resilient backend design, software architecture, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, agentic programming, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with unit testing, mocking, integration testing, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with relational databases, optimized SQL queries, database performance tuning, and indexing.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with production support, incident resolution, and operational improvements.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers is preferred.
