Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, profile, and resolve performance bottlenecks, latency spikes, and resource constraints across Kubernetes workloads in AWS GovCloud.
- Build predictive capacity models, analyze usage trends, and conduct stress and load testing for peak federal workloads.
- Track cloud utilization, right-size infrastructure, and implement FinOps strategies to optimize infrastructure costs.
- Build and maintain APM, distributed tracing, monitoring, logging, and capacity-alerting frameworks.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, autoscaling policies, and continuous delivery pipelines with Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, AWS, and Argo CD.
- Perform performance testing, tuning, and capacity planning for air-gapped and isolated cloud environments.
- Collaborate with software developers, security leaders, and platform engineers on benchmarks, design reviews, and performance-aware architecture.
- Author technical reports, share forecasting insights, and mentor engineers on performance profiling and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for work supporting federal government contracts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph is required; an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is strongly preferred.
- Mid-level qualification requires 3+ years of experience with production cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, or platform engineering systems.
- Senior qualification requires 5+ years of experience with production cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, or platform engineering systems.
- Requires 2+ years of infrastructure automation experience for the mid-level track or 3+ years for the senior track.
- Requires 2+ years of continuous delivery pipeline experience for the mid-level track or 3+ years for the senior track.
- Requires 2+ years of programming or scripting experience for the mid-level track or 3+ years for the senior track, with Go or Python preferred.
- Requires experience leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting distributed systems, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include production Kubernetes, Docker, AWS or AWS GovCloud, air-gapped systems, observability platforms, federal security frameworks, and DoD 8570/8140 credentials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent military or practical engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
Benefits
- Annual base salary ranges are $163,800 USD–$245,800 USD for the primary Reston, Virginia location and $148,200 USD–$264,000 USD for additional U.S. locations.
- Flexible work includes spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field, with possible client-site work in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
- The role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
