Responsibilities
- Provide technical coordination and leadership across multiple software product developments.
- Lead software integration, development, and best-practice implementation across application and embedded systems.
- Own existing product roadmaps and lead new software product developments.
- Manage software engineering process improvement activities.
- Conduct make-versus-buy tradeoff studies and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Advise Systems and Electrical teams on hosting platforms ranging from PCs to embedded systems.
- Coordinate with UK and European design teams and serve as the point of contact for maritime software.
- Support field testing and demonstrations with defence partners.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading complex integration and development programmes.
- Strong software engineering principles and best-practice knowledge.
- Knowledge of civilian, automotive, and defence software engineering standards.
- Knowledge of multi-stage validation and verification techniques.
- Knowledge of software regression and hardware-in-the-loop simulation platforms.
- Understanding of Ethernet and Fieldbus communication pathways.
- Understanding of real-time control techniques and limitations.
- Experience or appreciation of application software on Linux, embedded systems, and firmware platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure, resource-constrained environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
- Ability to travel to the South West England area when required.
