Principal Software Engineer (Experiences)

- Design and architect complex, scalable systems addressing scalability, reliability, consistency, and quality across engineering pillars.
- Conduct design reviews at the engineering pillar and broader engineering organization levels.
- Lead improvements in operational maturity and promote operational best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering managers and principal and senior principal engineers on technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Partner with product and engineering managers to establish technical delivery milestones and drive timely, high-quality delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and serve as a trusted expert across technologies, practices, and tools.
- Communicate project goals, commitments, and timelines to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of commercial software development experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-team collaboration in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Strong troubleshooting expertise for production issues.
- Experience building scalable and distributed software systems from conception through production.
- Experience with software architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to the data engineering ecosystem is preferred.
