Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance semantic search capabilities within AlloyDB.
- Build database features integrating advanced semantic search, including query processing, indexing, and vector embeddings.
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to understand requirements and develop effective semantic search solutions.
- Own specific components and contribute to technical discussions and key technical projects.
- Apply software engineering best practices in a fast-moving, innovative environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of experience developing core system-level software such as databases, operating systems, or kernels.
- Five years of programming experience in C, C++, or Java.
- Three years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
- Three years of experience with distributed computing.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: one year of experience with AI and agentic development.
- Preferred: experience with database internals, transactional systems, compilers, or data storage.
- Preferred: experience designing enterprise RAG systems involving vector search, embedding optimization, hybrid search, semantic retrieval, and data grounding.
- Preferred: knowledge of graph algorithms and graph databases.
Benefits
- US base pay is $174000-$252000 annually, with a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
