Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
Build scalable database solutions and optimize slow-running queries and database workloads.
Design database schemas that support evolving business requirements.
Develop ETL and data-processing routines and automate database operations.
Troubleshoot production database issues and improve database performance.
Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into database solutions.
Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and privacy best practices.
Review, refactor, and improve SQL code for maintainability and efficiency.
Participate in technical discussions and evaluate alternative technical approaches.
Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.

At least 5 years of SQL development experience, including database programming and performance optimization.
Strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Python, PostgreSQL, database schema design, query optimization, database performance tuning, and data processing.
Experience troubleshooting production database issues.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with GIS or spatial databases such as PostGIS is preferred.
Exposure to cloud database platforms is preferred.
Experience with CI/CD for database deployments is preferred.
Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum teams is preferred.
