Base Salary
$160k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks.
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, backend, business, and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable mobile solutions.
- Own solutions throughout their lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Apply secure-by-design, privacy, data protection, compliance, performance, scalability, and maintainability practices.
- Author automated unit, functional, integration, and other testing assets.
- Contribute to code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, release management, and development practices.
- Prepare, publish, and maintain releases in the Google Play Store ecosystem.
- Monitor application health and operational metrics, troubleshoot production issues, and support root cause analysis and remediation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and diagnose and resolve critical production incidents.
- Evaluate emerging Android technologies and practices to improve platform capabilities and developer effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience with hands-on native Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android development ecosystem.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.
- Experience with software design patterns, application architecture, modern mobile development, automated unit and functional testing, source control, and peer code review.
- Strong understanding of secure software development principles and application security best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, ownership, and delivery skills.
- Preferred: experience with Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack libraries, Coroutines, Flow, modern Android architecture patterns, Google Play Store publishing, enterprise and third-party integrations, CI/CD, monitoring, telemetry, observability, production support, on-call rotations, cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, SOLID principles, and object-oriented design.
