Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with strong test coverage.
- Translate product requirements into robust, modular, configurable, reusable, scalable, secure, and maintainable distributed application designs.
- Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications.
- Lead sprint teams in delivering new or improved features and resolving delivery impediments.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to ensure successful functionality delivery.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance while fostering innovation and engineering excellence.
- Drive technical strategy and vision for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of software programming experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with technologies used at Mercury and more than 1 year leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proficiency in one or more industry-standard programming languages, including Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational databases, NoSQL, caching, APIs, message queuing, data streaming, workflow, integration frameworks, microservices, and containerization.
- Experience designing and implementing high-quality distributed application systems.
- Preferred: 5+ years of Java backend development experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years of Guidewire Policy Center configuration and integrations experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of Spring Boot, APIs, and microservices experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of CI/CD processes and technologies, including Kubernetes and Jenkins.
- Preferred: 2+ years using technologies such as Kafka, AWS, S3, Drools, and Blaze.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, influencing, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
