Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, IAM, monitoring, and load balancing.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD or similar deployment pipelines.
- Containerize applications with Docker and manage Kubernetes and Amazon EKS environments.
- Write and maintain Terraform modules, state, workspaces, provider configurations, and version-controlled infrastructure.
- Administer Linux servers and automate operational tasks with Bash and Python.
- Configure Nginx as a reverse proxy, SSL terminator, and load balancer.
- Administer MySQL and MongoDB production databases, including backups, replication, and security configuration.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, deployment automation, and incident-response workflows.
- Manage Git repositories, branching strategies, merge requests, and collaboration workflows.
- Troubleshoot networking issues across VPCs, peered connections, and hybrid environments.
- Apply infrastructure and deployment security best practices and use AI-powered tools to automate repetitive DevOps work.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on DevOps experience.
- Strong AWS experience with EC2, AMIs, Auto Scaling Groups, VPCs, subnets, route tables, NACLs, security groups, VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Elastic IPs, NAT and Internet Gateways, ALB/NLB, IAM, S3, EBS, EFS, and CloudWatch.
- Experience writing Dockerfiles, building and managing Docker containers, using Docker Compose, and operating Kubernetes resources such as Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, RBAC, and Helm charts.
- Strong Terraform experience, including modules, state management, workspaces, provider configuration, and CI/CD integration.
- Strong Linux administration experience with Ubuntu, CentOS, or Amazon Linux, including Bash scripting, cron, systemd, and process management.
- Python scripting experience for tooling and automation.
- Production experience administering MySQL and MongoDB, including installation, configuration, backup and restore, replication, replica sets, and TLS configuration.
- Git and GitLab or GitHub repository management experience, including branching strategies, merge requests, conflict resolution, and CI/CD configuration.
- Nginx reverse proxy, SSL termination, load balancing, and virtual host configuration experience.
- Experience using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Kiro for infrastructure automation.
- Preferred experience with EMR on EKS, Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, DocumentDB, managed databases, Ansible, and AWS cost optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, independent-working, teamwork, and learning abilities.
