Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for software functionality and quality compliance.
- Create and execute automated test scripts, frameworks, and test packs for early defect detection.
- Perform ETL testing and validate large-scale data pipelines, distributed data platforms, and data consumption platforms.
- Conduct data validation, model testing, transformation testing, and upstream-to-downstream end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements, design discussions, acceptance criteria, code reviews, and defect resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis and manage defect lifecycle activities using tools such as JIRA.
- Maintain testing governance, procedures, documentation, audit readiness, and risk controls.
- Contribute to technology communities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Lead complex assignments or guide team members while influencing stakeholders and supporting organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Experience with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting for workflow validation and automation support.
- Experience with Python and PySpark for data validation, automation scripting, and framework development.
- Experience with GitLab for CI/CD integration, version control, and automation orchestration.
- Experience designing and executing automation frameworks aligned with DevOps and Agile practices.
- Experience with dbt for model testing, data transformation validation, and test automation integration.
- Strong data product mindset, including understanding of product boundaries, quality SLAs, lineage, and ownership.
- Experience developing automation for data consumption platforms and testing ETL pipelines and distributed data platforms.
- Strong test approach creation skills, including structured test entry, scope, and exit definitions.
- Hands-on experience with testing governance, procedures, audit readiness, and documentation.
- Understanding of defect lifecycle management, including JIRA or similar tools.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark-based validation, notebook automation, and workflow testing is valued.
- Knowledge of Snowflake for warehouse validation, ingestion checks, and transformation testing is valued.
- Experience with end-to-end data-flow validation, generative-AI-driven regression development, and Terraform architecture/testing is valued.
- Ability to manage risk and controls, collaborate across functions, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders.
