Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end features across Next.js, Node.js/Express, and Python/FastAPI services.
- Design real-time data flows using WebSockets, Socket.IO, Kafka consumers, and Server-Sent Events.
- Develop interactive charts, data grids, dashboards, drag-and-drop layouts, and a conversational AI assistant.
- Architect and maintain shared frontend, charting, grid, type, store, UI, and utility packages in a Turborepo monorepo.
- Integrate KDB+/Q, time-series data pipelines, enterprise messaging, and capital markets data infrastructure.
- Build and optimize the BFF proxy layer, including authentication-validated routing, token injection, and service proxying.
- Implement Redis and RTK Query caching, session storage, rate limiting, tag invalidation, and optimistic updates.
- Build RAG pipelines, prompt-driven features, contextual orchestration, and streamed AI responses.
- Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes using Helm, reverse proxy routing, autoscaling, and observability tooling.
- Collaborate with quants, traders, portfolio managers, and product teams to translate desk workflows into platform features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant full-stack development experience.
- Expert-level TypeScript proficiency and experience with large, strictly typed codebases.
- Deep experience with React and Next.js, including App Router, Server Components, middleware, API routes, SSR, and ISR.
- Strong Node.js backend skills with expertise in Express, REST API design, middleware, and asynchronous data pipelines.
- Experience managing application state with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query, including cache tags, optimistic updates, and code-splitting slices.
- Experience designing real-time systems with WebSockets, Socket.IO, Server-Sent Events, or similar architectures.
- Proficiency with MongoDB, Mongoose ODM, Redis, caching patterns, and pub/sub implementations.
- Experience with monorepo tools such as Turborepo, Nx, or Lerna.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, LDAP/AD, session management, and NextAuth.js.
- Experience containerizing applications with Docker and deploying to Kubernetes using Helm charts, pod scaling, health checks, and deployment strategies.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Capital markets or financial services experience and knowledge of equities trading workflows are preferred.
- Python/FastAPI experience, KDB+/Q or time-series database experience, and AI/LLM integration experience are preferred.
- Experience with RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, streaming inference, Claude, GPT, Highcharts, D3, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, and Solace is preferred.
