
Infrastructure Monitoring Lead Platform Engineer

Responsibilities
- Engineer, operate, and continuously improve enterprise infrastructure monitoring platforms for availability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Build monitoring capabilities across Linux, Windows, network estates, hybrid infrastructure, and cloud environments, including onboarding and lifecycle management.
- Design telemetry collection and platform integrations for metrics, logs, and events using OpenTelemetry patterns where applicable.
- Develop standardized agents, collectors, configurations, dashboards, alert policies, and topology-aware monitoring patterns.
- Improve monitoring signal quality through baselining, threshold strategy, noise reduction, enrichment, and context alignment.
- Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure production code, automation, and platform configurations.
- Automate platform operations using scripting, configuration management, infrastructure-as-code, and controlled CI/CD workflows.
- Lead production triage and root-cause analysis while delivering preventative engineering and resilience improvements.
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and SRE teams on SLIs, SLOs, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Use and validate enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure analysis, documentation, automation, and remediation while maintaining security, traceability, and auditability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency administering, troubleshooting, and analyzing performance for Linux and/or Windows in regulated production environments.
- Hands-on experience delivering and operating enterprise-scale infrastructure monitoring across Linux, Windows, and/or network estates.
- Experience implementing observability and telemetry for metrics, logs, and events, including OpenTelemetry collection patterns and downstream integrations.
- Proficiency with Python, Ansible, PowerShell, and/or Bash for automation and engineering workflows.
- Experience developing, reviewing, debugging, and maintaining secure production code and platform configurations.
- Broad infrastructure experience across hardware, operating systems, networking, storage, and databases including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Cassandra.
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code or configuration management practices.
- Experience operating hybrid infrastructure across enterprise on-premises platforms and public or private cloud.
- Experience improving monitoring signal quality and supporting event-to-incident workflows.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Preferred experience with SCOM, Tivoli, SMARTS, IBM Instana, DX NetOps, ITNM, or Netcool Suite.
- Preferred experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Kubernetes, or EKS.
- Preferred knowledge of topology-driven monitoring, event management, anomaly detection, probable-cause analysis, guided remediation, and AIOps workflows.
