Responsibilities

Conduct architectural reviews and provide code-level and infrastructure recommendations to reduce cloud costs.
Develop Python, Bash, and Terraform automation, governance guardrails, and remediation for inefficient or orphaned resources.
Build cloud financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, margin optimization, anomaly detection, capacity planning, KPI frameworks, and executive dashboards.
Lead Kubernetes cost optimization covering utilization, autoscaling, spot workloads, namespace visibility, GPU allocation, rightsizing, and scheduling efficiency.
Optimize GenAI costs through token metering, prompt efficiency, model selection, quota management, forecasting, and usage guardrails.
Design tenant-level metering, showback dashboards, chargeback engines, tagging, allocation, and reconciliation mechanisms.
Architect cost-optimized data and feature pipelines, including ETL/ELT, streaming, storage tiering, retention, query optimization, observability, and cost intelligence.
Partner with Finance and Engineering teams and present optimization opportunities and business value to leadership.

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
At least 6 years of experience in cloud engineering, FinOps, or DevOps roles.
At least 3 years of experience in FinOps or cloud financial governance.
Deep understanding of cloud billing models, pricing structures, and cost optimization strategies.
Hands-on experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, and FinOps tools such as CloudHealth.
Proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, and cost analytics dashboards such as CloudHealth, Apptio, or CloudZero.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
Experience with Terraform or Ansible automation tools.
Exposure to AI platform economics and an end-to-end understanding of cloud-based web application architecture.
FinOps Certified Practitioner or a similar certification is preferred.
Knowledge of Azure OpenAI Service, vector databases, RAG, GPU optimization, AI inferencing economics, Databricks, and BigQuery is preferred.
