Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed AI infrastructure and in-cluster services supporting large-scale AI training and inference.
- Develop, test, and maintain C# control-plane services hosted on Service Fabric or Kubernetes/AKS clusters.
- Improve system stability, efficiency, maintainability, latency, and cloud security.
- Provide operational support and direct on-call responsibility for the service.
- Develop understanding of AI/ML concepts and customer use cases while experimenting with available development tools.
- Collaborate with service engineers, product managers, applied research teams, and data science teams.
- Provide technical vision, expertise, and leadership to other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with large-scale, highly available PaaS or IaaS cloud services and microservices architecture.
- Preferred: complex data structures and algorithms experience in resource allocators, schedulers, orchestration engines, database engines, or similar systems.
- Preferred: proficiency in unit testing and testability techniques, agentic development skills, and experience operating stateful critical control-plane services.
- Preferred: experience with data size and partitioning challenges, advanced NoSQL cloud databases, service reliability, instrumentation, KPI/performance analysis, and service/code quality.
- Preferred: applied Kubernetes knowledge, including service models, workload packaging and deployment, CRDs, operators, Service Fabric, or service meshes.
- Preferred: data-driven design, troubleshooting, and data analytics skills, ideally using Kusto.
