Responsibilities
- Own the scalability, debuggability, and operation of Apple’s large-scale Kubernetes footprint.
- Build and maintain observability capabilities including end-to-end error tracking and log aggregation.
- Design and build internal-tools APIs supporting versioning, multi-tenancy, authentication, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with platform adopters on SDK and self-service onboarding experiences.
- Operate and scale a MongoDB estate ingesting millions of records per day, including query optimization, indexing, and sharding.
- Own and improve ETL pipelines covering data ingestion, transformation, and reliability.
- Design and ship self-service query tooling for client teams, including query builders, templates, or LLM-assisted query construction.
- Contribute to sustainable operations and evolve the platform from curated partnerships toward self-service adoption.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent, including production experience with Kubernetes, large-scale data systems, or internal platform infrastructure.
- Deep hands-on production experience operating Kubernetes at scale, including cluster scaling, debugging, and operation under real load.
- Experience with MongoDB or similar document databases and aggregation patterns for maintaining performance at scale.
- Professional fluency in Python and ability to own production code.
- Experience navigating and building within large-scale internal infrastructure environments.
- Preferred experience with production observability, APIs, ETL or data pipelines, self-service data products, LLM-assisted query tooling, or Model Context Protocol wrappers.
- Strong product instinct, broad ownership, and comfort working on a small team across platform and product concerns.
