Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration requirements.
- Design and build custom implementations using Telnyx APIs, AI voice assistants, WebRTC, and related communications capabilities.
- Deploy and operate LLM gateways and model-serving systems, including routing, fallbacks, rate limits, virtual keys, cost controls, and guardrails.
- Implement production observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and operational runbooks.
- Lead technical discovery, POCs, pilots, production launches, troubleshooting, and customer handoff through stable operation.
- Design model-routing strategies and adapt models through prompting, RAG pipelines, and evaluation harnesses for English and Indic-language use cases.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap using customer and field insights from India.
Requirements
- A computer science degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience building and shipping production software, including operating and debugging software used by real customers.
- Proficiency in multiple languages among Python, Node.js/TypeScript, and Go.
- Practical knowledge of production LLM concerns such as rate limits, retries, streaming, token accounting, cost attribution, and concurrency failures.
- Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes and managing secrets, configuration, and upgrades.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, or ELK.
- Experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams at scale, including partitioning, consumer groups, backpressure, and consumer lag.
- Experience building APIs with OpenAPI, REST or GraphQL, authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and idempotency.
- Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice and messaging systems.
- Customer-facing engineering experience, including technical discovery, whiteboarding, troubleshooting, executive presentations, and escalations.
- Ability to work independently, diagnose root causes, communicate clearly in English, and work on customer sites.
- Based in Bangalore or willing to relocate; legally authorized to work in India or eligible for sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, LLM conversational systems, LLM gateways, open-weight models, inference serving, SQL, ETL, CI/CD automation, telecom or CPaaS, sovereign or on-premise deployments, Indian regulatory frameworks, and security controls.
