Responsibilities
- Assist in developing backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Support implementation of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Work on event-driven integrations using Kafka and support API integration, data transformation, and middleware flows.
- Participate in software development lifecycle activities, code reviews, and learning sessions.
- Support debugging, defect fixing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including API specifications and design documentation.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams.
Requirements
- Be a full-time matriculated student pursuing Higher Nitec, a diploma, or a degree in an IT-related course.
- Have hands-on development experience and demonstrate understanding of requirements specification, design, coding, and testing of information systems.
- Have experience with software design patterns and some experience with Java Spring Boot, Camel, Confluent Kafka, Microsoft SQL Server, REST-based APIs, JSON, and web services.
- Have experience using version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or ADO.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience developing high-availability, multi-tiered, and secure web applications.
- Have good debugging and troubleshooting skills and experience using STS, IntelliJ, or Visual Studio Code IDEs.
- Apply well-defined and disciplined development, implementation, and production processes.
