Responsibilities
- Lead on-premises workload migrations to AWS, including VMware-based virtual machine rehosting and database migration activities.
- Design and manage AWS cloud architectures using compute, storage, networking, messaging, Landing Zone, and Control Tower services.
- Configure hybrid cloud networks, VPN connections, AWS Direct Connect, and Application Load Balancers.
- Automate migration, infrastructure, development, and testing processes using scripting, infrastructure-as-code, configuration-management, and CI/CD tools.
- Support container hosting platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Troubleshoot Windows and Linux migration issues, monitor infrastructure and application performance, and optimize databases and applications after migration.
- Apply AWS security best practices, IAM policies, and relevant data-handling compliance requirements.
- Lead delivery of platform, application, data, analytics, and machine-learning solutions for clients.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience.
- Recent experience applying cloud migration approaches, including rehosting on-premises VMware or other virtual machines to AWS EC2 architectures.
- Experience with CloudEndure, Double-Take, AWS Migration Hub, AWS Application Migration Service, AWS Server Migration Service, and AWS Database Migration Service.
- Expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, auto-scaling, Landing Zone, Control Tower, SNS, and SQS.
- Proficiency with AWS Migration Evaluator and Portfolio Assessment tools.
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, cloud-based web-services architecture, design patterns, and frameworks.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows or Linux operating-system issues during migration and familiarity with database-server migrations.
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking, VPN, AWS Direct Connect, and Application Load Balancers.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, with hands-on experience in Core Java and Scala.
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Docker.
- Experience with configuration-management tools including Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and AWS SSM.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESX, NSX, vMotion, and VM export/import.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure and application performance with Amazon CloudWatch.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Experience building or managing container platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are preferred.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments and knowledge of relevant data-handling compliance requirements.
