Base Salary
$95k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for scalable genomic data analysis.
- Implement and optimize Python and Nextflow bioinformatics workflows, with support for Cromwell or CWL.
- Integrate bioinformatics pipelines with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, privacy, regulatory, and quality controls.
- Develop and manage databases and applications for quality control and assay performance monitoring.
- Document and validate bioinformatics systems for clinical diagnostics.
- Collaborate with laboratory, LIMS, IT, and other cross-functional teams supporting clinical production, clinical trials, and assay R&D.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Background in software or infrastructure engineering with experience in bioinformatics.
- Experience managing bioinformatics pipeline workflows, particularly Nextflow, Cromwell, or CWL.
- Hands-on experience developing cloud-native infrastructure, preferably on AWS, for storage, batch computing, and serverless applications.
- Expertise with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, R, or other relevant scripting languages.
- Experience developing and integrating JSON-based REST APIs.
- Understanding of version control, CI/CD practices, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience in clinical diagnostics or regulated environments and knowledge of software validation and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with controlled processes, environment management, quality control systems, and DevOps methodologies in clinical settings.
