Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of a squad of approximately 5–7 software engineers while remaining hands-on with daily coding.
- Design, build, deploy, and operate scalable greenfield APIs, services, applications, and databases.
- Refine technical requirements and make key architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers, review designs, and provide technical guidance across experience levels.
- Configure and manage testing, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and system observability.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to build and launch products and services.
- Apply automation, AI capabilities, and high-quality engineering practices to developed systems.
Requirements
- Currently working as a Lead Engineer or Tech Lead leading a small team of software engineers.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS, Kubernetes, GraphQL, Kafka, and Mongo.
- Extensive JavaScript knowledge and experience running containerized applications in the AWS ecosystem.
- Experience building and operating robust always-on RESTful and GraphQL APIs, underlying services, applications, and databases.
- Familiarity with Jest, Pact, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, and DataDog or similar observability tools.
- Experience managing and configuring CI/CD pipelines and deploying systems without manual configuration or intervention.
- Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing designs, and balancing pragmatic solutions with engineering excellence.
- Comfort working with Git, Confluence, Jira, and modern engineering workflows.
