Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build large-scale distributed automated data processing systems and data lakes on AWS Databricks while optimizing computational and storage efficiency.
- Create data pipelines, infrastructure, and workflow orchestration to ingest diverse data sources into the Kharon Data Lake.
- Build systems to track, monitor, and validate data quality entering or leaving the Kharon Data Lake.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and data scientists to implement scalable solutions for complex problems.
- Develop and interact with internal and external APIs.
- Define business metrics with product and business teams.
- Apply engineering practices including documentation, diagrams, unit tests, and validation tests.
- Own the development, deployment, adoption monitoring, and maintenance of data systems and services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or data engineer, excluding internships.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience with Python, Pandas, PySpark, and Notebooks.
- SQL experience with relational databases, including schema design, access patterns, and query performance optimization.
- Experience with data pipeline technologies such as AWS Glue, Airflow, Kafka, or equivalent cloud technologies.
- Experience with ETL and data warehousing technologies such as Databricks or Snowflake.
- Container-based deployment experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience with graph databases or data modeling, including Neo4j or Neptune.
- Preferred API experience with FastAPI, Flask, Spring Boot, or equivalent.
- Understanding of Elasticsearch data and query modeling is preferred.
- Interest or experience in geopolitics, sanctions compliance, or financial risk is preferred.
