Responsibilities

Identify inconsistencies and formulate solutions to complex and ambiguous technical problems.
Develop and implement embedded software designs in C++ according to architecture and product specifications.
Propose technical solutions and direction for future development efforts.
Apply design principles to create robust and maintainable software applications.
Conduct in-depth design reviews against functional and performance requirements.
Mentor junior engineers on design principles and development practices.
Investigate new software technologies and tools for appropriate application.
Ensure software architecture, design, and interface specifications comply with department guidelines and requirements.

At least 8 years of progressive experience designing, developing, and implementing embedded Windows and/or Linux software systems using C++.
At least 6 years of experience designing and implementing multitasking and multithreaded systems.
Demonstrated technical expertise within a software development organization.
Experience developing for resource-constrained target environments with specific performance requirements.
Experience with operating systems and RTOS environments including ThreadX, RTXC, Linux, and Windows.
Knowledge of Yocto or BSP development for ARM platforms.
Knowledge of IoT and associated solutions such as remote monitoring.
Knowledge and experience with standard communication and network protocols.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
An advanced degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience in highly regulated industries, software security coursework or certification, C development, modern C++, network communication interfaces, risk assessments, formal design and requirements tools, and cybersecurity risk mitigation are preferred or desirable.
