Responsibilities
- Lead complex software engineering initiatives for commodities trade processing, pricing, risk, and front-to-back trading systems.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, redesign, develop, test, and implement applications, system components, tools, utilities, models, simulations, and analytics.
- Manage business and technical analysis, coding, testing, implementation planning, and full project life-cycle activities.
- Monitor systems, improve operational efficiency, mitigate risk, maximize resource utilization, and reduce costs.
- Resolve technically challenging coding, testing, and escalated platform issues.
- Coordinate implementation activities across functions, departments, technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
- Lead risk management and compliance initiatives for the supported area.
- Mentor less experienced software engineers and collaborate with professionals at all levels.
- Partner effectively with production support and platform engineering teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of specialty software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 5 years of Java development experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with capital markets business and processes.
- Working knowledge of the Open Link Endur trading platform.
- Working knowledge of tools required for regression test automation.
- Working knowledge of Agile best practices.
- Experience with JavaScript and React is preferred.
- Experience with middleware messaging technologies such as Solace and Tibco RV is preferred.
- Experience with caching technologies such as Coherence, MongoDB, and Redis is preferred.
- Experience with event processing technologies such as Apache Storm and Apache Flink is preferred.
