Responsibilities
- Advise leadership on applications, network, information security, databases, operating systems, and web technologies for complex enterprise needs.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex technical challenges requiring large-scale, long-term solutions.
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient, and low-latency solutions across the Commodities trade lifecycle.
- Translate business objectives and technology strategy into technical engineering solutions.
- Provide vision and expertise to leadership on innovative business solutions.
- Set architecture, engineering standards, and technology strategy across Commodities platforms.
- Partner with traders, quantitative analysts, product managers, and engineering teams.
- Monitor industry best practices and recommend innovations that improve operations or provide competitive advantage.
- Serve as an expert technical advisor across professional and management levels.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 5+ years of Capital Markets experience.
- 4+ years of deep FICC trade-lifecycle experience, including trade capture, valuation models, and lifecycle event management.
- 4+ years of Java expertise, including concurrency and JVM tuning, and/or Python expertise including FastAPI and data-science libraries.
- 4+ years of distributed-systems experience with gRPC, service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd, and high-performance messaging protocols.
- Preferred experience building or significantly contributing to industry-leading platforms.
- Preferred understanding of pricing and risk for complex derivatives including swaps, options, and exotics.
- Preferred experience implementing GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools at scale.
- Preferred experience with Micro Front Ends and independent trader-UI module deployment.
- Preferred familiarity with hybrid-cloud deployment of mission-critical financial systems on Azure, GCP, or AWS, with attention to data residency and sovereignty.
