Responsibilities
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for software features and user stories.
- Collaborate with BSAs and developers to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and assess system impact.
- Plan and execute integration, regression, functional, end-to-end, smoke, exploratory, manual, performance, load, accessibility, and security testing.
- Create and maintain automated tests, test cases, test data, and data-testing scenarios across system layers.
- Validate web service, user interface, file, and database outputs.
- Review defects and advise on regression testing after fixes.
- Review team outputs, facilitate knowledge transfer, maintain testing standards, and champion improved practices.
- Demonstrate completed functionality to product owners and teams and provide input on story estimates.
- Provide timely test-result updates, identify high-risk areas, and drive resolution of testing challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Five or more years of experience in a QA/testing technical role.
- Proven experience testing software development in a structured environment and managing the defect lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of testing levels from unit testing through user acceptance testing and of cohesive testing strategies.
- Experience with test frameworks and scripting automated functional tests.
- Good experience with API and microservices testing.
- Understanding of application servers, databases, web services, basic programming constructs, and high-level system architecture.
- Experience working with user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- Ability to improve team practices and processes, collaborate across development and business disciplines, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience working in an AWS environment is preferred.
- Experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot is preferred.
- Experience in accessibility and security testing is a value-add.
