Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server database solutions.
- Develop and support complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and Dynamic SQL.
- Perform SQL Server performance tuning and query optimization using execution plans, indexing strategies, statistics, and workload analysis.
- Create, schedule, monitor, and maintain SQL Server Agent Jobs.
- Troubleshoot database issues across development, testing, and production environments and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop Python automation and support scripts for operational tasks, data processing, and database support.
- Support database deployments, maintenance activities, production releases, and critical business applications.
- Collaborate with application teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable database solutions.
- Provide weekend support when required.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience with MS SQL Server, T-SQL development, performance tuning, query optimization, Dynamic SQL, Python automation, and production support.
- Expert-level proficiency in T-SQL and strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience with complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, Dynamic SQL, and SQL Server Agent Jobs.
- Experience with Python scripting for automation, data processing, and support activities.
- Strong knowledge of database design principles, indexing, SQL Server best practices, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production environments and critical business applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- SQL Server DBA experience, backup and recovery, PowerShell scripting, monitoring, health checks, capacity planning, database security, permissions, user management, Log Shipping, Azure SQL, or AWS RDS are advantageous.
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications are an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, accountability, and collaboration skills, with willingness to work weekends as required.
